The pub previously operated as a very successful bar and restaurant and was one of the main venues for nightlife on the bustling street.

The fabulous Castlebar town is one of the popular destinations for tourists to visit in Mayo.

It is home to many gorgeous attractions, including Mayo Movie World Cinema, Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, TF Royal Hotel & Theatre and National Museum of Ireland – Country Life.

And it has a lot of history due to having major roles in some of the most pivotal events in Irish history, including the 1798 Rising.

It has three floors, an enclosed side yard with separate street access and access to a number of large car park spaces.

The ground floor has a main bar with access to the toilets and keg room in the basement.

The flooring features traditional wooden flooring and the bar has a feature bar with taps built-in.

The building has space for internal seating for approximately 50 customers across the ground and first floor.

The first floor has a second bar with a fully fitted commercial kitchen, which leads to a smoking area or external seated area overlooking the town river.

The external seated area would be a fabulous area for celebrations and catching the golden hour melting into the river.

The appliances and utilities from the previous restaurant remain on the property, allowing new owners to create a restaurant or a deli.

The second floor consists of storage, an office and a communications area with a camera system.

There are also ladies’, men’s and staff restrooms on the second floor.

Business opportunities

The new owners of the establishment can convert it into a lovely cafe, restaurant or quaint hotel with a bar and restaurant.

The building is currently on the market for a whopping €365,000 but business experts could pay the rent for €20,000 per year instead of paying full price.

It is available to use the establishment immediately once a contract is signed.

The property features main water, main sewerage, oil-fired central heating and gas-fired appliances.

The BER rating for the property is exempt.
