Nestled in the Cotswolds village of Kingham in Chipping Norton, is The Wild Rabbit.

It was built in the 17th century and once used the name Conygree Fram, meaning “rabbit enclosure”.

With wisteria draped over the outer walls, this Grade II-listed building welcomes you with open arms.

The outdoor garden has a terraced courtyard with views of the surrounding Cotswold countryside.

It features wooden tables and benches, blankets, and candles.

During the summer, shade-giving trees and wide umbrellas offer some relief from the sun.

The Wild Rabbit says: “Our terrace is the perfect setting for a relaxed afternoon with great company.”

It also boasts a wood-fired over in the Chicken Shed that’s great for parties or private dinners.

Step into the pub and be met with a double-sided fireplace and plenty of comfortable nooks.

Choose from a mix of artisan beers, familiar ales or a wine list, with wines collected from local vineyards.

Or perhaps dabble in one of The Wild Rabbit’s unique cocktails.

Then pick a dish to be made in the pubs “award winning kitchen”, using only the “finest seasonal ingredients.”

The rating came from top chefs Tom Kerridge, Raymond Blanc and Sally Abé in The Telegraph.

Amongst others included were The Crabtree in Fulham, The Ship Inn in Porthleven, Cornwall and The Three Fishes in Milton, Lancashire.

It comes after a countryside pub claimed last year to have the most beautiful beer garden in the UK.

The Mutton at Hazeley Heath, Hampshire, described itself as a place “where the charm of the British countryside comes alive”.

The pub also said that its garden becomes “the ultimate summer haven” during the warmer months, providing a unique place to relax in the sun.

The garden at The Mutton, which used to be a post office, was created by Hortus Loci, garden designers famous for their Chelsea Flower Show creations.

The pub has won several awards, and has been nominated for others, with the garden playing its part in those achievements.

The Pub & Bar awards declared The Mutton to be the best pub in Hampshire, while the Muddy Stilettos named it the best destination pub in the country.

Elsewhere, it’s been shortlisted for the newcomer award at the Cateys, a nationwide hospitality awards.

Meanwhile, a UK pub-goer claimed to have found the country’s best beer garden– and it’s hard to argue against them.

She Explores (@sheexplores_UK), paid a visit to the The Victoria Inn in Borth, Wales last year and shared the footage with her followers.

The video showed her walking around the back to see people enjoying a sunny day on the decking right next to the beach, with steps down to the rocks, which eventually give way to soft sand.

Out the back of the pub is a two-layered decking system, offering plenty of space for those who want to look out at the sea with their pints and bar snacks.

However, it doesn’t have to be a sunny day to enjoy a drink in the Victoria, with three indoor bars making it a decent place for a pint any time of the year.

The UK travel fan captioned the video: “Is this the UK’s best beer garden?

“Food, drinks, mates, beach, summer evenings, watch the sunset…”

Just the year prior, in 2023, the village with the UK’s best beer garden, featuring incredible beach views, great food and amazing drinks was revealed.

Compiled by Big 7 Travel and ranked out of 25 was The Watering Hole, in Perranporth, Cornwall.

It boasts unparalleled views of the coastline as well as thriving live music events.

As it sits right on the sand, it’s the UK’s only bar on the beach according to Big 7.
