TAKE a look at the stunning forest trail with ‘dramatic landscapes’ that’s just 40 minutes outside Dublin.
The Devil’s Glen, Co Wicklow is the perfect place to escape into nature.

The glen is home to a rich green forest and a roaring river and is a favourite among nature lovers.
Its especially beautiful at this time of year when the leaves are changing colour before winter.
Walking and hiking is a popular autumn sport and a Sunday afternoon stroll through the glen is the perfect way to blow off the cobwebs.
The forest trail takes visitors along a winding pathway through the trees.
Walkers can take in the sights of the surrounding wildlife from under a canopy of beech, chestnut, and ash trees.
The spot was formed at the end of the Ice Age when the melting of water created the long valley.
The Devil’s Glen can be explored on two different paths.
The Seamus Heaney trail, named after the famed Irish poet, is approximately two hours long.
The four kilometre trail takes walkers through the high forest and is a great way to see some of the wildlife that live in the woods.
Meanwhile the Waterfall trail is roughly five kilometres long and takes some two hours to complete.
It’s a stunning walk through the trees that ends with a spectacular waterfall view.
The river Vatry, which runs through the glen, enters the Devil’s Glen at the waterfall.
It’s the ideal place place to stop for a quick picture or simply enjoy a moment of peace and quiet.
There are two car parks at the Devil’s Glen, one of which fits about five cars and the other with capacity for roughly 25 cars.
The first is located on the county road near the start of the Seamus Heaney walk, and the other can be found at the start of the waterfall walk.
Both car parks are free to enter and are closed in by a barrier, which is open between 9am until 5pm.
And to top off a lovely day out in the forest, there is an ideal spot nearby to warm up with a bowl of soup or enjoy a well-earned pint.
The Chester Beatty Inn in the nearby village of Ashford has free parking and an extensive menu of cosy pub grub.
The spot is an old inn style gastro pub complete with charming decor and hearty pub favourites.
One happy visitor commented on Tripadvisor: “What an absolute gem.
“A lovely traditional pub that was packed from when we got to until we left.
“Friendly and prompt service and without a doubt the biggest portion and the best fish and chips and beef & Guinness pie we’ve ever had.
“Will definitely go back and can’t recommend this place highly enough.
“You won’t be disappointed and as an added bonus their prices are extremely reasonable.”
