Double Diamond had one of the most famous beer logos ever and is making a comeback[/caption]

The tipple, once Britain’s favourite bottled ale, was adored by Prince Philip, who drank one nightly.

Staffordshire brewery Allsopp’s announced the comeback, saying: “Revived as a 3.8 per cent pale ale, it is a delicious, easy-going sessionable draft beer coming very soon to your favourite pubs.”

Many will remember Double Diamond for its advertising slogans, including, “You’re only here for the beer” and “Double Diamond works wonders” as well as the claim “everybody feels better” after drinking it.

The DD sign was one of the most famous ever.
