Shane Lowry makes incredible gesture to Clara GAA as PGA Tour star commits to hometown club

IRELAND’s Shane Lowry has make an incredible gesture to his local GAA club.

Clara GAA, Camogie & LGFA will now dawn the PGA Tour star’s pub name on their jerseys after they confirmed Lowry will be sponsoring the club he is also a President of.

The 2019 Open champion owns The Old Warehouse bar, which is located not far from his hometown.

The pub is located in Tullamore, and created 50 full-time and part-time jobs.

Offaly star Lowry opened the boozer in partnership with businessman Alan Clancy just before Christmas of 2022.

And the popular bar has already scooped a number of awards.

Clara GAA shared photos of Shane Lowry modelling its new ‘Old Warehouse’ branded lilywhite shirt as they confirmed the sponsorship that will also collaborate with Ireland’s autism charity, ‘As I Am’.

A statement read: “Today marks a momentous occasion for our club as we unveil not only our stunning new jerseys but also a groundbreaking partnership that not only strengthens our GAA club but also uplifts our community in profound ways.

“We’re delighted to introduce ‘The Old Warehouse’ as our esteemed sponsor & club patron alongside a collaborative effort with ‘As I Am’, Ireland’s autism charity.”

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Club President Shane Lowry and his business partner Alan Clancy from ‘The Old Warehouse’ for their visionary support, and to ‘As I Am’ for their invaluable partnership.

“Together, we are poised to make a tangible difference, both on and off the field.”

Lowry is in action on the PGA Tour in South Carolina this week, he received a sponsor’s exemption for $2Om RBC Heritage PGA Tour Signature event at Hilton Head.

He’s played the Heritage six times since 2017 and finished third twice – in 2019 and 2022.

The 2019 Open champion carded a one-under par round of 70 on the Harbour Town Links track.

It was an average opening round for the popular Irishman, World number 37 Lowry made the turn on +1 before a further bogey on 11 but managed to sink three birdies on 13,16 and 18 for the -1 round that leaves him T39.
